File Size and Format for Online Korean Passport Photos
Check pixel dimensions, file size, and format for South Korea's online passport application.
The recommended online size is 413 × 531 pixels
The Ministry's online file guidance recommends 413 pixels wide by 531 pixels high. It lists an accepted range of 395–431 pixels wide and 507–550 pixels high, so inspect the actual image dimensions before upload.
Check file size and format
The online file page states a maximum of 500 KB and specifies JPG/JPEG. A related checking page may mention PNG, so the current application screen should be treated as the final authority for accepted formats.
Correct pixels do not guarantee acceptance
Head length, facial position, white background, recency, expression, and unobstructed eyes must also comply. Enlarging a very small image can create unacceptable blur.
Do not distort facial proportions to fit
Stretching or compressing the head to reach a target size changes the person's appearance. Crop a suitable original naturally or reshoot; do not use AI editing or background compositing.
